Beastie Boys Sued For Illegally Sampling Music
Just one day before Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away, the band was slapped with a massive lawsuit.

Hip-Hop R&B label Tuf America filed the lawsuit on May 3rd alleging that the Beastie Boys illegally sampled four songs from the Tuf America label.

Mind you, these “illegal samples” occurred over 25 years ago.

The lawsuit claims that the Beasties sampled Trouble Funk’s song, “Say What” on the 1986 Beastie song “Hold It Now Hit It” as well as “The New Style” both on the bands debut album License To Ill.
