Shia LaBeouf Directs

Shia LaBeouf can add directing to his list of things he can do (i.e. act, be annoying, suck up to Michael Bay etc.)

Shia LaBeouf recently directed a music video for rapper, Kid Cudi, for his song “Marijuana.”

The grainy, sleepy video features Cudi and gang going to a house party, traveling to Amsterdam, visiting the red light district, and finally culminating at one of Cudi’s shows.

The whole video is shot on a flip cam, and directed and edited by LaBeouf.

This video is going be one of those things where some hipster friend you know is gonna say, “Hey man, have you seen the new Kid Cudi video?” and you’ll be like “Naww man, you know I don’t watch music videos” and then hipster friend goes, “Yah well Shia LaBeouf directed it.”

And then you watch this video out of curiosity and realized that you just spent 4 minute of your life watching some indie kids go to Amsterdam to smoke weed.

Kid Cudi’s lyrics are literally a love song to marijuana, an ode to mary jane. “Pretty green bud. All in my blood. Ohh I need it.”

This is not Shia’s directing debut, he directed a music video for another rapper, Cage, and that video featured CGI and celebrity cameos, a far cry from the hipster home video he made for Kid Cudi.

What do you think of the video?
