Nelly Furtado Launching Music Label

Nelly Furtado is launching her own record label in hopes of helping aspiring singers and bands make it in the industry.

Furtado has launched Nelstar in co-operation with Canadian independent record company Last Gang Labels. And she's already signed her first act!

Toronto-based electro-pop quartet Fritz Helder & the Phantoms were just signed under her new label.

She says, "I've been thinking about a way to help Fritz Helder for a while and this venture grew out of my love for the band, their art and their work ethic. I am as committed as they are to bringing their creativity to the world."

So all you aspiring singers should track Nelly down for a deal. If she likes your stuff, she'll be more than happy to help you!
