Nick Carter publicly stated that even in the aftermath of his sister Leslie’s death, he would not drop out of his performing duties with the Backstreet Boys. Yes, the Backstreet Boys are still performing and going on world tours, don’t question it.
Nick made his first appearance yesterday, performing at New York’s Irving Plaza to a rapt audience.
Even with Leslie Carter’s passing, Nick powered through the show like a pro. He performed with the rest of the Backstreet Boys, even debuted some songs from his recent solo album, sang the U2 classic, “With or Without You” and also Rod Stewarts song “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.”
He even took off his shirt at one point and teased fans, “You guys are naughty and you know it.” Gotta love Nick Carter and those insane BSB fans.
However, he did let his guard down once during the show, taking out a guitar to play a striped down version of his song “Falling Down” which he performed for his sister.
“I never thought I’d ever have to, but I’d like to dedicate this song to my sister,” he said.
Fans in the audience noted that he was choking up during the performance. According to Galina Matlin, a self described die-hard BSB fan, “Nobody would have begrudged him if he decided to cancel his show, but he’s a trooper and we love him for that.”
Nick will continue his entire tour, claiming that every night is dedicated to his sister Leslie.
