Nicki Minaj broke the Internet last week when she posted the cover photo for her upcoming single “Anaconda.” The track was set to be released on July 28th, but Nicki took to Instagram over the weekend to announce it's been pushed back to August 4th.
As confusion undoubtedly followed, Stereotude has come up with five explanations for the later release date.

Although they are two very different artists, maybe Nicki's team didn't want ANY competition for the "Anaconda" drop.
4. She's waiting for the #ANACONDA memes to die down.
Nicki seemed to embrace the memes. She even posted them on her Instagram. But she probably doesn't want the hype surrounding "Anaconda" to be solely memes.
