Nicki MInaj may be shutting us out (and Mariah Carey in general for that matter) when it comes to their heated feud on “American Idol,” but she’s welcoming us in to a more colorful and happy-looking world, the music video set of “Boys.”
Yesterday, the rapper handed out this little piece of candy for fans to eagerly unwrap: a minute-long behind-the-scenes clip that shows Nicki showing off a fantasy-filled city block from her L.A. shoot.
In the featurette, Nicki sports an ensemble dipped in a rainbow of acid—shades of hot pink, sea foam green, stark white, and tangerine orange (one color for each alter-ego?) blinding everyone’s eyeballs who set 20/20 on it. She lit it all up further with a sunshine yellow wig and a leopard print baseball hat.
"Pink Friday's Cotton Candy, I didn't even see that. Cool," she whined in her trademark baby Barbz talking voice, referring to one of the set pieces while strolling through the set. "Wow, Roman's Ice Cream Parlor. I want to live on this block,” she said of the fake street. It may look like a Mattel Barbie Dream House, but it’s not just for the girls. There’s a Ken’s Barber Shop for all her male friends, holla.
The Cassie featured track is the lead single off her sophomore album re-vamped re-release, Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up, which will be out sometime this fall.
