The news of Nicki Minaj joining the American Idol judges panel broke yesterday and while most people seemed excited about the new addition, Mariah Carey is reportedly NOT.
TMZ is reporting that Mariah, who is known for her diva antics, hung up the phone when she was told that Nicki was the top candidate.
Apparently, Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge's panel and adding Nicki to the mix would not only crush that expectation.
It also doesn't help that Nicki is 13 years younger than Mariah, which is another sore spot for the original diva.
But Mariah may not have to worry just yet, as sources connected to Idol say the composition of the judge's panel is by no means a done deal.
Joe Jonas recently tweeted that he was being considered for the third judges spot, but that was the last we heard of that. Who would you want to see fill the spot? A Jonas, another Diva or someone brand new?
