Nicki Minaj’s album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up—a title that leaves you as breathless as any of her rap lyrics—hit stores today and to announce its drop, the rap-pop trailblazer released the video for its lead single “Freedom.”

The video has Nicki following her tried and true formula of high fashion costumes and wigs throughout to keep our eyes square on its frame. The #1 Barb dolls up in various outfits (most of them totally covered up and don’t showcase her bodacious backside) for the clip that starts off in black and white before transitioning into lightly saturated color—all of which matches the tunes’ ethereal melody and vibe.

To match the message, specifically that opening line (“Don’t ever thank me for opening doors / But they ain’t even thank Jesus when he died on the cross”), Nicki infuses her scenes with some pedestrian religious imagery like a cross in the dirt and a gold tangle of wires that resemble a crown of thorns. As far as the outfits go, the “Va Va Voom” singer recruited London label Sorapol for that furry Cruella De Ville jacket, that strapless mermaid dress, and royal gold princess dress—though if you asked Nicki, we’re sure she’d hit you upside the head with a scepter and tell you should we was the Queen.

Watch her leave her pinkprint in the video.
