It’s bittersweet news for hardcore No Doubters checking their newsletters today...
The pop group has announced that they hit the pause button on a 2013 tour to make room in their schedules to record new music. This is great for fans craving shiny new material; it’s also a downer for those same fans yearning for more live performances.
No Doubt’s update arrives via official press release on the band’s website:
“We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don't want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible - both recorded and live on tour.”
The statement adds that the group has been in the studio since January, where “new music started flowing with unexpected ease.” It also goes on to thank devoted fans for their ongoing support.
Following a four-year hiatus, which included front woman Gwen Stefani’s charting solo effort Love. Angel. Music. Baby., the band reunited in 2008 to record new material.
In September 2012, they released Push and Shove, their sixth LP featuring the lead single “Settle Down.”
The release was fitted with a touring campaign that carried on through December. Currently the group has no 2013 dates scheduled.
