I really wasn’t expecting that at all. Norah Jones' debut album in 2002, “Come Away With Me” is the best selling album of the last decade.
I know what you’re thinking, I can’t believe the top selling album ISN’T “Who Let the Dogs Out” by the Baha Men.
Anyways, no artist since 2002 has been able to eclipse Jones’ nearly 22 million copies sold of the “Come Away With Me” album.
Now, if only she can match those numbers again. She’s released three albums since then, but nothing comes close to “Come Away With Me.” Maybe she should do a duet with Chris Brown, get her some free publicity. Just a thought.
Nora Jones’ 5th studio album “Little Broken Hearts” will release on May 1, 2012.
But back to the Billboard Album chart. Coming in at #2 on the best-selling Billboard Albums chart is Eminem’s “The Eminem Show” with 10 million copies and Usher’s “Confessions” sold a total of nine million copies.
The newest album to make the top 10 is music darling Adele, whose “21” album is fourth in the list with more than eight million copies sold. It’s also the best selling album of the decade by an artist outside the U.S.
Wow, I assumed Coldplay would have that honor or something.
Rounding out the top 10 include 50 Cent’s “Get Rich or Die Trying” album in the #5 spot with more than eight million sales. Albums by Evanescence and Nickelback came in at sixth and seventh place.
