First, Justin Bieber… Then Katy Perry… Now, 1D!
Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson are reportedly working on a deal to star in their very own 3D movie. And this rumor is generating a slew of press.
The UK’s Sun reported the news, and the One Direction boys are all excited about it.
"The film could be exciting. My hair would be poking in your eye,” Harry told The Sun.
The project will likely not begin shooting until next year. Reportedly there is already interest in assigning director Ben Winston to the project. Winston was the mastermind behind this year’s British One Direction Christmas Special. It could go the behind the scenes docu-route, or even become a scripted comedy.
“It may be documentary footage mixed with a concert film, or it could even be a comedy caper in the style of old Monkees films,” a source said.
In terms of confirming the film, a rep for the band tells Stereotude's sister site Hollyscoop that everything is still very much up in the air.
“Nothing is confirmed at this stage and it's too early to confirm any further activity for 2013,” the rep said.
People are already speculating that the endeavor would prove extremely lucrative. Film experts say it could even reach Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never earnings at over $75 million… That’s more than 15 million a piece for the boys.
Not a bad payday at all!
One Direction is currently busy on their US “Up All Night” tour. Their next stop is at the Aztec Bowl in San Diego, California on June 8.
