Paul McCartney ended his last show of 2011 by falling off the stage. Too bad he didn’t get kicked in the nuts either, or he could have submitted it to America’s Funniest Home Video for the chance to win the $5,000 prize for funniest video ever!
Paul McCartney returned to his hometown of Liverpool on Monday night at the city’s Echo Arena for a one-off Christmas show, and as he was walking offstage, he fell down the stairs.
According to The Sun, a source said, “He’s not accident-prone so it’s unusual for him to be clumsy. He saw the funny side.”
Ahhh, so funny being 69-years-old and falling down stairs! What? Falling down is only funny when the person is chubs, young, or dumb, otherwise hip-replacements come into the mix and it’s not okay. But at least McCartney has a sense of humor about it all.
The source says that after falling he “dusted himself down” and carried on. The source also adds that earlier this year Paul had “a similar problem with steps in Brazil.” And what would that problem be? Falling? Paul McCartney: I fall a lot, but I like to say that I have a “problem with steps.”
McCartney announced recently that he would be releasing a new album in February and it would feature covers of his favorite songs.
Personally, I hope all his favorite songs are Beatles songs, essentially, I just want Paul McCartney to re-record all his old hits, because let’s be real, he just isn’t the same without John Lennon (and the other guys, of course, Ringo and What's-his-face George Harrison).
He also released a new single, an original composition that he collaborated with Eric Clapton on called “My Valentine” and the song is just alright.
