When most people are throwing together a music video, they maybe convince some friends to show up and perform for them. When Sir Paul McCartney, someone who has shaped the pop music landscape for roughly 50 years, throws together a music video, he does much the same thing. Except all his friends are some of the most familiar and influential faces in entertainment.
In the former Beatle's new music video, McCartney is casually recording a song for his latest album, NEW. As he slides happily into his new single “Queenie Eye,” people start inexplicably appearing in the studio with him. Granted, they mostly just sit and listen, oblivious to the icon at the piano. But as a viewer, that’s irrelevant because the blasé people appearing are some of Hollywood’s A-list luminaries.
It’s like a game. Which incredible actor will appear next?
Famous faces include: Johnny Depp, Kate Moss, Jude Law, Jeremy Irons, Sean Penn, Meryl Streep, and more. The best part of this video, however, is the song. It’s a joyous jangling tune from a performer who at 71 is still innovating.
