How Motherhood Changed Pink

Pink has had a #1 album debut for The Truth About Love, a ton of radio hits including her latest “Try,” collected a handful of Grammys, sings songs live completely in tune while suspended in the air, but her greatest success is being a mom.

On her upcoming “Behind the Music,” the pop-rocker shows a much softer side as she opens up about motherhood to daughter Willow Sage Hart and how it changed her instantly.

Recalling the moment she learned she was pregnant, she says of the sweet scene pulled straight from a Judd Apatow-directed movie: “I had this vision in my head that it would be this moment and I would pee on the stick and the line would appear and I'd come up with this super romantic way of telling [husband] Carey [Hart] about it. It was so typical me. The line was so faint that I wasn't sure, I threw it at Carey and said, ‘What does it say?’ He looked at it and he said, 'You're knocked up.’”

Her husband Carey has also noticed a difference once she was born. "In that moment, my life changed…[Pink’s] changed like a light switch. I think overall she's been softened, while the mama-bear nails have been sharpened."

You can see the entire special premiering tonight on VH1 at 10 p.m. Eastern time. It’ll be followed by her “Storytellers” episode right after, an intimate, usually acoustic, hour-long performance accompanied by stories behind every song.
