Record Label Accidentally Tweets Rihanna Announcement

Def Jam France had RiRi fans a-Twitter when it accidentally (accidentweetly?) stated that her next album will be on shelves as soon as November—less than two months from now.

The tweet that caused it all has since been quickly deleted, but it’s not completely unbelievable that the Pop Princess of Barbados has already reportedly finished another studio album less than a year after Talk That Talk. She’s a recording machine who’s working with nearly every major songwriter and producer in this town. RiRi’s the Octomom of Top 40 radio hits.

Benjamin Galouye, a top DJ in France who will just call the French Ryan Seacrest, also tweeted the news:

The news hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but major record companies don’t just make statements pairing global superstars with arbitrary months of year, intentionally or not.

The French arm of the label clarified the too-early announcement by saying there’d be more concrete info available sometime this week, either today or tomorrow. Still waiting…

If this is truly the schedule, it will be the Bajan singer’s seventh studio album, continuing a track record of releasing a chart-topping album every November for the fourth consecutive year. However, believe it or not, RiRi’s never had a #1 US album yet.

This is following the news last week that the 24-year-old will kick off her Diamonds tour this spring.

The new single—believed to also be called “Diamonds”—is said to be due out this Monday, September 17.
