Rihanna Runs 2012 MTV European Music Awards Nods

More reasons for Rihanna’s attitude to get a case of “Cockiness.” Six reasons, in fact.

The hit-after-hit-after-hit singer leads the 2012 MTV European Music Awards with six nominations, all in the top categories like “Best Song,” “Best Pop Act,” “Best Look,” and “Biggest Fans.” That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!

She’s also the frontrunner in the “Best Female” category, which is fierce with competition from Katy Perry, Pink, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift. Europe is anyone’s kingdom for these pop princesses.

RiRi recently took home top honors with moonmen from the 2012 Video Music Awards, most notably for “We Found Love,” but with the EMAs on the horizon, will she find total world domination too?

Even Calvin Harris is getting his own recognition in the “Best Electronic” category where he spins against David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, and Skrillex.
But the most surprising nomination is for PSY and his “Gangnam Style” who could be the underdog winner against more popular musicians like M.I.A. and Lady Gaga for “Best Video.”

Performers have yet to be announced, but it could include any of the acts recognized as nominees in the list of 16 main categories. Rihanna is also rumored to be dropping her next album around the time of the event with a single to be released soon, so if that’s any indication, perhaps she’ll be scheduled to perform?
Until then, MTV viewers can vote for the “Best Newcomer,” “Best Live Act,” and more on mtvema.com.

Find out who the winners are from Frankfurt, Germany on November 11.
