Three heavy-hitters of their own musical Olympic status closed down The Paralympics Closing Ceremony in London last night.
Following this year’s Olympic Games in London, the 2012 Paralympics events were its most successful in its 52 years: 2.7 million spectators with more than $70 million in ticket sales.
This cat’s cradle of collaborators crisscrossed their way through a set of their hits “Princess of China” by Coldplay and Rihanna, and “Run This Town” by Jay-Z and, again, RiRi.
Hova came as a surprise to the 80,000-person crowd, who after jumping up on stage to perform alongside Rihanna, even rapped a verse with Coldplay for a remix of “Paradise.”
Their performances only added fuel to the already international fire of the closing ceremony called the “Festival of the Flame.”
Coldplay said they couldn’t “actually imagine a bigger honor” than playing the ceremony which hosts multi-sport events for athletes with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities.
At the end, Jay-Z thanks London.
