Brad Pitt and Ellen DeGeneres hosted “A Night to Make It Right” benefit concert in New Orleans over the weekend and superstars like Rihanna, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, Sheryl Crow and Seal performed a few songs each.
Pretty normal Saturday night for celebrities. No big deal, just a party at Brad Pitt’s place with your favorite celebrity BFFs, or whatever.
The event took place at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans and raised money to support Pitt’s charity to rebuild the still hurricane-ravaged city of New Orleans. Specifically Pitt wanted to build 150 eco-friendly homes in the 9th ward.
Kanye and Jamie dueted on “Gold Digger” and I dunno about you, but I think this performance was especially gold diggity. Maybe it’s because you could tell Jamie Foxx was itching to perform again, or what, but these two were a-mah-zing! If Jay-Z ever had to go on an indefinite “taking care of baby” hiatus, Jamie Foxx could totally step in as Kanye’s new BFF and Watch The Throne partner.
Rihanna sang “We Found Love” and performed the start of her set from the audience, amongst the commoners! Well, as common as an invited guest to a Brad Pitt party gets. Rihanna was also surprisingly wearing clothes.
Rihanna and Kanye joined up later in the show for “Run This Town.” I forgot how much I loved this song. Kanye soared over the rap, while Rihanna kind of vamped around the stage in a shiny leotard and then lent her vocals to the “heyyyyy eyyyyy eyyyyy” chorus.
