This must have been filmed before Rihanna came down with a serious case of the flu.

Rihanna has been releasing behind the scenes videos as a countdown to her new album “Talk that Talk” to be released on November 21, 2011.

In her latest video, the singer is seen slumming it and riding through London on The Tube (aka the subway). She wanted to surprise fans by getting to her concert at the O2 Arena by means of public transportation.

“I’m going to the show with the audience,” says Rihanna in the video, “And they have no idea. [I will] just chill out actually and not make a scene.”

And by “not make a scene” she means, travel with a entourage of like 7 people including several giant bodyguards in winter coats.

“I’ve actually always wanted to do this,” says Rihanna. What? Ride a subway or mingle with commoners? Since Rihanna is only 23 and has been in the spotlight since she came to America, she probably has had very few days where she was just a normal girl.

While on the train, dozen of fans flocked the singer. Many of which were traveling to her concert that same night. Rihanna posed for pics and was probably the subject of many tweets that day. “OMG Rihanna riding on the subway!”

One girl held up her tickets to the concert and said, “That rocks – I’m chillin’ with Rhanna!” and then Rihanna says to the girl, “I’m chillin’ with you.”

This incident actally happened about a month ago, because twitpics from her tube journey surfaced the internet.

Apparently she was riding the train just hours before she was set to perform. She was hoping off the train just minutes before her opening act Calvin Harris was ready to go onstage.

According to a onlooker who spoke to the UK’s Daily Mail, “I didn’t really freak out at first because you wouldn’t expect to see a superstar travelling so casually on the tube. And she was due on stage in a couple of hours! But then me and my friend realized it WAS her.”

Apparently Rihanna was “cool and friendly” and told passengers that she’d always wanted to ride the tube and thought the first night of her tour would be the perfect time.

Currently Rihanna is cancelling her tour dates this week as she is recovering from the flu. She cancelled two dates in Sweden and apologized via a statement.

“I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo," she said in a statement, tweeting to fans a photo of her with an IV inserted in her arm. "It would have been a great time. So much better than being sick with the flu, ugh! I'm really disappointed I couldn't be there.”
