Can you think back to a time when Rihanna wasn't the baddest bitch in the game?
Yeah, neither can we.
Let's take a journey back in time… say 2005 when Rihanna was an up-and-coming artist trying to make a name for herself in the industry. Rihanna along with fellow female singers Amerie and Teairra Mari were chosen to perform Destiny's Child's "Lose My Breath" for a Destiny's Child tribute at the World Music Awards.
It's shocking because the main singer for their performance was not our BadGalRiRi. It was actually Teairra Mari who got to stand in the middle and got the most solo singing time. Who would've thought that out of these three ladies that Rihanna would turn out to be the biggest star?
Teairra Mari, the obvious lead in this performance, was signed to Jay Z's Roc-A-Fella at the same time as Rihanna. Unfortunately, Teairra was dropped shortly after signing due to lack of record sales.
Imagine if the tables were turned and it was actually Rihanna that was dropped and Teairra that became the huge star…
