RiRi is full of surprises. When she’s not posting questionable photos on Twitter, she’s popping up with unexpected collaborations.

Rihanna hit the studio with rapper Flo Rida to put a new spin on her hot track “Where Have You Been.” The hip-hop combo adds a new level of flavor to original’s driving force while keeping the good parts in place.

“Fresh so clean / fell in love with your assets / put you on the team / cause that body stops traffic,” Flo raps.

This latest tag team comes after Rihanna broke the rules and joined Jay-Z and Kanye on stage in London for their Watch the Throne tour.

Other than a breakdown where Flo Rida takes off in a speed rap, and sharing the chorus here and there with Rihanna, the new song doesn’t change much from the original format. It simply adds more.

The result of the second pass is a more layered, faster (if you can believe it) sound. Electronica and Latin influences seem a little bit more pronounced in the latest installment. Structurally, you could even make the case, comparing parts of the remix with Wisin & Yandel and J.Lo’s collaboration on “Follow the Leader.”

Rihanna’s original take on “Where Have You Been” currently sits at the number 13 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

She performed the song last week on the season finale of “American Idol.” The performance featured an elaborate set design for the high budget affair and left fans pleased as ever.

Flo Rida’s fourth studio album Wild Ones hits stores on July 3rd. Though the Rihanna team-up will be absent from the track list, the album will feature collaborations with other artists like Trina, Lil Wayne, and J.LO herself.
