Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I Wedding Song Revealed

September 28, 2011 By:

The wedding of the year may not go to Kate Middleton and Prince William or even Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries (Gasp!) but rather the on-screen couple of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Yes, I'm talking about the vampire-human wedding in the upcoming Twilight film, "Breaking Dawn."

There are hundreds of YouTube clips created by Twilight fans that are just videos edited together of the 7 seconds of wedding footage from the trailer, set on loop and played over a Taylor Swift song. So yah, this Twilight Wedding is a big deal and the wedding song has finally been announced!

Bella and Edward wont be walking down the aisle to that tired old "Here Comes The Bride" wedding march, but rather an Iron And Wine song. The Iron And Wine track, "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" will play when Robert Pattinson's character weds Kristen Stewart's character.

Hardcore Twilight fans will know that "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" was the same song that played in the first Twilight film during the "Prom" scene. So let me get this straight. The song that Bella and Edward danced to at their high school prom is the same song that will play at their wedding? Following that logic, I should be walking down the aisle to "Get Low" by Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins.

So far, the only other "wedding" news is what we can glimpse from the trailer, which basically shows that the two get married in a forest, which is super nostalgic because Bella and Edward had their first "date" in that forest. Also Edward primarily kills all his animal prey in that same forest, but what are you gonna do?

The Iron & Wine song, which is being called "Flightless Bird, American Mouth (Wedding Version)," will join 14 other tracks including new music by Bruno Mars and actress Mia Maestro who plays another vampire in the "Breaking Dawn" films.

The Bruno Mars song, "It Will Rain" featured on the soundtrack is a melancholy midtempo ballad about how without that significant other "there'll be no sunlight" and "no clear skies." Essentially, it's perfect for the Twilight soundtrack, a film that takes place in the rainy city of Port Angeles, Washington and a movie where Bella and Edward remind each other every few minutes that they would die if they couldn't be together. It's all very dramatic.
