Simon Cowell: X Factor Winner Will Be 'Legacy of this Year'
December 21, 2011 by: KRISTIN WONG

The first of the two X-Factor finale shows will air Wednesday night on FOX, and then on Thursday, we’ll find out which contestant will leave the stage $5 million richer.
"It will be the greatest final we've ever been in, in terms of talent. The fact that all three of them are undiscovered before this show, amazing artists, amazing vocalists," Simon Cowell told Us Weekly.
"One of these artists will be the legacy of this year. This is $5 million dollar talent. We are going to put on a show and it will be better next year."
Sterotude’s sister site, Hollyscoop, talked to Rene, who is very determined to take home the prize.
“Winning’s very important to me,” Rene told us. “That’s why I’m here…I’m here to try and go all the way…I’m here to do as best I can to get as close I can to the prize.”
So far, so good.
Amaro told us being on the show has been “an emotional roller coaster.” She also told us she aspires to have a career like “Mariah Carey and Beyonce. That’s who I really want to get as big as, because you know, they’re known all over the world.”
Krajcik says he “hopes to have a great career regardless of what happens." But he also wants people to “realize it’s not a life/death situation here we’re just trying to win a competition."
Cowell admits he was “too cocky” during this season. Whaaaat? You’re crazy talking! Not you, Simon Cowell. Next you’re going to tell me you show too much chest hair!
“But I had come off the back of a massive finale in the U.K. I had the adrenaline, and it took a bit longer than I thought."
Okay, enough about Simon. Let’s get back to those contestants.
L.A. Reid says all three of them are "amazingly talented and unique in their own right.”
“Each one of them has a very distinct advantage and I couldn't be more proud,” Reid says. “They represent us well. They are very modern...I just love their charisma."
Last week, Marcus Canty was eliminated, and before that, there was the controversial deadlock between he and Rachel Crow. I would recap the rest of that story, but I’m afraid Nicole Scherziger will start crying.
Reid is now mentoring Rene, Nicole has Krajcik and Cowell has Amaro, who seems to be the crowd favorite.
