Slightly Stoopid: Slightly Not Stoned Enough To Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid

Talk about a title! Slightly Stoopid is back with their fifth album called Slightly Not Stoned Enough To Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid. It's 21 songs deep, consisting of seven songs from the EP, outtakes from '05 album Closer To The Sun and '07 Chronchitis, and then a whole bunch of new songs as well. They're cleverly divided into three sections: Combinations, Side Orders, and Extras, respectively.

SS hails from Ocean Beach, CA, and consists of six guys--Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald both on guitar, bass and vocals; Ryan Moran on drums; Oguer Ocon on percussion; C-Money on trumpet and keyboard; and Dela on Sax. Talk about a dude fest! We hope they use Febreeze on their tour bus.

This album makes you move. Like, it's impossible not to sway back and forth and bob your head. There's definitely a heavy reggae undertone throughout the album, but then they'll go and surprise you with a horn set or some funky keyboards. But don't go falling asleep on 'em, cuz they've made sure to wake you up at track #16 with I Metal.

They're a perfect pair with Pepper, whom they're touring with, infusing that summer beach flare into their music. We just wish we had discovered this album a month earlier. The tour started sold out in Las Vegas on Aug 1 and has since played sold out shows at Pacific Amphitheater (8,500) in Orange County, Santa Barbara Bowl (4,500), and last Friday August 15 at Red Rocks Amphitheater (9,500), the bands first headlining sellout at Red

Rocks, which is arguably the most prestigeous music venue in the

country. The tour wraps up in San Diego on Sept 6, but the show has

already sold out. If you haven't gotten your tickets already, it's still not too late to check out the album!

Check out our favorite track off the album, Sensimilla.
