Global Green USA is hosting its 8th Annual Pre-Oscar Party on February 23 featuring special musical performances from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Portugal. The Man, Best Coast, and DJ’s Solange Knowles, Jeremy Sole and Michael Smith.
The theme for this year’s event is “Greener Cities for a Cooler Planet” and will benefit Global Green’s initiatives to promote smart solutions to climate change by creating healthy, green communities.

The sisters were supposed to host the Beyonce and Solange: Hope For The Holiday benefit this coming Tuesday, but as of now, all hope is lost. It was a highly anticipated event scheduled to air on the Fuse network to benefit the victims of Hurricane Ike.
The girls’ press release stated “irresolvable scheduling conflicts” for the reason of the cancellation. Their label also put out a statement saying, "Beyonce and Solange regret the cancellation of their Houston-area holiday concert and urge their fans to support the efforts of The Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund and the Survivor Foundation."
Hopefully they’re both still going to make a big donation on behalf of those hurricane victims!
