You know Steve Aoki, founder of Dim Mak, worldwide DJ sensation, lover of throwing cake. But did you know his dad is the owner of Benihana? And that his sister is Devon Aoki, who starred in 2 Fast 2 Furious? Didn't think so.

1. Steve Aoki started Dim Mak Records out of his college dorm room at UC Santa Barbara.

 

2. He was straight-edge in college because he was super into the punk rock scene growing up.

 

3. Steve was even in a punk band called This Machine Kills from 1997 to 2000. After the band split, Steve took up DJing.

 

 

4. Steve learned to DJ from the legendary DJ AM.

 

5. He travels 300 days out of the 365 days of the year.

 

6. Steve has done over 580 #AokiJumps where he does his trademark jump around the world and post on his Instagram.

 

 

7. He currently lives in Las Vegas and Ibiza.

 

8. Steve started using a raft at his shows in 2009 and began caking the crowd in 2011.

 

9. He was the highest grossing DJ during the first half of 2012.

 

 

10. His first album Wonderland was nominated for a Grammy, and it's one of the biggest achievements of his life.
