Swedish House Mafia is scheduled to play on Friday April 13th and 20th at Coachella this year, and for those of you who are going to battle the Coachella Valley heat to see acts like Radiohead and Snoop Dogg, let me introduce you to another great Coachella set, Swedish House Mafia.
Swedish House Mafia is the combined talents of three Swedish House music DJ’s and friends, Axwell, Steven Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso who formed who in 2008.
Steve Angello previously told Hollyscoop, “We have been friends since we were kids, just having a good time, and now we’re [making music] together.”
Or as Axwell put it, “When you make house music in Sweden when there is not that much house music, you end up working together.”
Thankfully for fans, this three man house music machine will be coming to Coachella armed with their latest single, “Greyhound.”
The just debuted the new track earlier this month and played it for 20,000 fans for the first time at Madison Square Garden, or as Sebastian Ingrosso put it, “It gave us goose bumps.”
Not only will the band appear at Coachella but will also do a live show on July 14th, 2012 when they headline the 9 hour “One Night Stand” show that will also have performances by IT-producer Calvin Harris (“We Found Love” – Rihanna) and 17-year-old pop/house producer Madeon.
The band scored two #1 Billboard Dance hits last year, a Grammy nomination, headlining shows at Madison Square Garden, EDC and have sold over 2 million single worldwide.
