Taylor Swift Closes VMAs With New Song and Stage Dive

The 22-year-old country-pop crossover sweetheart finished the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards with the karaoke song of the season “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Upon it’s release, the song smashed records when it became the fastest selling song for a female artist in the span of a week.

Currently, Taylor is the most watched performance of last night’s show on the MTV site and here’s why…

Tay Swifty stepped out looking casually nautical at the Staple Center stage, and in other words, super relatable—just like her music.

She rocked a hey!-got-done-sipping-organic-lemonade-with-my-BF-in-the-Hampton’s outfit—a red striped shirt with black shorts and flirty ponytail—while she inspired the LA audience onto their feet to sing along.

It basically looked like the biggest teenage girl sleepover ever.

Behind her, backup dancers looking like a colorful J.Crew catalog come to life served up some cute choreography.

Her bright red lipstick matched a bright red microphone letting us know two things: Her forthcoming album is titled RED and that this is her mic (you can’t touch this, Kanye).

Taylor shared an even more special moment with her fans when she did a stage dive into the audience.

It wasn’t a Gabby Douglas floor routine, but it was still pretty golden.
