Another Monday, another Taylor Swift song preview. Today, the last in her “Good Morning America” countdown promotion extravaganza of Red, Taylor gives us a sneak-peek into the track titled “State of Grace” and if you were wondering if it’s the country singer’s thoughts on the current state of the United States economy or the Joe Biden-Paul Ryan vice presidential debate then you would be shockingly mistaken. It’s all about love, baby.
"It's a song called ‘State of Grace’ and I wrote this song about when you first fall in love with someone, the possibilities. Thinking about the different ways that it can go,” said Taylor of the track on the daily program. “It’s a really big sound. To me, this sounds like the feeling of falling in love in an epic way.”
As she shares these rosy lyrics on love in a Jackie O floral print dress, it’s easy to guess the 22-year-old is talking about a certain state in her relationship with Conor Kennedy, but it's more general than that considering she probably wrote the bulk of Red way before her foray into regal Hamptons water. “And I never saw you coming / And I’ll never be the same” she sings, and as we all know, the singer is very easily surprised by everything, so let's just believe her when she swoons it.
Hear the rest of “State of Grace” when it’s available for download on iTunes tomorrow.
Also, while this may be the last of the previews, it isn’t the complete end. Taylor will return to “GMA” seven days from now, Monday, October 22, for an exclusive interview and a concert, the day after, on Tuesday, October 23.
