2013 Grammy Nominations Are In

Last night in Nashville, masters of ceremonies LL Cool J and Taylor Swift co-hosted “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live…Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night” where they announced the nominees for this year’s 55th annual telecast.

It was an eclectic way of presenting the who’s-who of the music industry’s most prestigious awards show, but try to follow here: the categories were declared interspersed between performances from Maroon 5 and other acts with Hunter Hayes singing covers of artists nominated for “Best Pop Vocal Album.” It was a long night!

Competition is extra tense this year. The most overall nods was a six-way tie between artists Kanye West, Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons and fun. Of those six, two go mano-a-mano in the “Best New Artist” category, which feels exciting.

The Grammys will air on February 10, 2013 on CBS at 8 p.m. live.
