All those breakups might have been painful, but hey, at least they were lucrative.

Taylor Swift has been named the top Money Maker in Billboard’s annual “Money Makers” list. And you know we love our celeb money-making lists.

Swift’s salary in 2011 was a whopping $35 million. She beat out Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Adele, and even U2. Have you ever looked at the price of a U2 ticket?

Taylor Swift is killin’ it out there.

The artists’ rankings were based on U.S. income sources coming from tours, album sales and royalties. Billboard said in a press release that “sponsorships, merchandise sales or synchronization deals” didn’t count.

Surprisingly, Adele came in tenth on the list. Her hit album, ‘21’ has sold more than 5 million copies in 2011. Maybe it was Adele’s throat problems that caused her to round out the bottom. But with a salary of $13,081,909 last year, I doubt she’s crying over it. But if she were, that would be awesome, because she makes some damn good music when she's sad.

U2 came in second with $32 million. Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne rounded out the top five spots. Bon Jovi, Sade, Celine Dion, and Jason Aldean also made the top ten.

Meanwhile, Swift is taking a year off to write another album. Not sure where the material is going to come from since she hasn’t dated anyone in a while.

“I’ve written 25 songs so far, so it’s coming along really well,” Swift told The Hollywood Reporter.
