After Kanye-palooza ensued last week, the new music arriving today has some big shoes to fill. Acts with new tunes include Wale, Bret Michaels, Forever the Sickest Kids, Tech N9ne, Palms and Smith Westerns. While it's doubtful that any of these will generate 'Ye-level press, they still deserve our attention. Here's what's dropping.
Wale – The Gifted. Boasting not only supreme hip-hop tracks but appearances from Rihanna, Cee Lo Green, and even Jerry Seinfeld. Via Maybach Music and Atlantic Records.
Bret Michaels – Jammin’ With Friends. Ace Frehley, Miley Cyrus, Joe Perry and Jimmy Buffet are just a few of Michaels’ friends featured on his newest country-infused rock album. Via Poor Boy Records.
Forever The Sickest Kids – J.A.C.K. LP number three for the ensemble, it's a surefire pop-punk hit with the singles “Chin Up” and “Nice to Meet You.” Available from Fearless Records.
Skillet – Rise. This will be the Christian headbangers ninth LP. Check out the deluxe edition for bonus tracks. From Word and Atlantic Records.
Tech N9ne – Something Else. T-Pain, Cee Lo, and even The Doors lend themselves to tracks on Tech’s forthcoming album, which also features an all-star production team. Via Strange Music.
Palms – Palms. Chino Moreno has teamed up with the former members of Isis to create a prog-rock, atmospheric masterpiece fit for any beach trip this summer. Available from Ipecac Recordings.
Smith Westerns - Soft Will. Echo-y vox and electrified piano carry this indie dreamscape. Via Mom + Pop Records.
