Dr. Dre: There Is NO Tupac Shakur Hologram Tour
Way to dash the hopes and dreams of stoners everywhere, Dr. Dre! Dre was responsible for bringing Tupac back to life this month at Coachella, but wants to pull the plug on Tupac’s hologram.

The Tupac hologram basically broke Twitter last week and had many hoping that the late rapper would go on tour. Actually rumors began to surface that Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre would go on tour with the fake Tupac.

However, Dr. Dre released a video message for his fans and made it clear that Tupac’s hologram “was strictly for Coachella," says Dr. Dre, "Get it right. I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour.”

But he doesn’t rule it out entirely, “If a tour happens, we’ll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012, just for you.”

So that was a flat-out denial, followed by a “we’ll see” followed by another flat-out denial, so I have no idea.

Actually it was Dre himself who started the Tupac world tour rumor. He told TMZ last week that he was “thinking about it, nothing for sure.”

Fun Fact: The Tupac hologram wasn’t actually a hologram. It was just a 2-D image projected onto the stage, it would have had to be 3-D to truly be a hologram.

Dre told MTV, “I’m not sure right now, [there’s] a technology that’s happening where the hologram could be 360 degrees. Right now it’s flat, it just looks like it’s 3-dimensional from the front, but I’m working on some new and different things for the future.”

Moral of the story: Dre is working on some “new and different things” but one of those things is definitely not a tour... well maybe.
