Tyler the Creator and his Odd Future gang have an entrepreneurial spirit unlike any other.
After quickly rising to fame in 2011, Tyler and his friends traveled the world selling out venues everywhere they went. At every show, you could see Odd Future branded t-shirts, socks, and hats all throughout the crowd. This led to the gang opening up their own shop in one of the most coveted streets for street wear apparel in Los Angeles -- Fairfax Ave. Now, the crew even have their own TV show on Adult Swim called "Loiter Squad", as well as their own radio station in conjuction with Dash Radio.
If that weren't enough, Tyler started his own music festival in LA called the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival. This Saturday marked the third annual Camp Flog Gnaw and it was the biggest they've seen yet. With massive headliners like Pharrell, Rick Ross, and Schoolboy Q, and a capacity of 20,000, it should have been enough to make Tyler cry… and it did.
Tyler has made his obsession with N.E.R.D. very clear from the start of his career. In a radio interview, Tyler spoke about how crazy he felt when he first heard N.E.R.D.'s "Tape You" off their In Search Of… album. Fast forward 12 years after hearing "Tape You", and Tyler got to collaborate with his idol on "IFHY".
So it all makes sense that Tyler began to cry while watching N.E.R.D. perform at his music festival. Watch the footage below:
