The star power on all these reality TV singing competitions has created a new angle for fans to entertain themselves while watching them: Judging the judges.
Here’s another opportunity for such a case…
Allegedly, Usher and Shakira are in talks to shake up "The Voice" as judges, replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green for the fourth season of the show.
A source tells Us Weekly, the two are close to reaching a deal, set to fill the vacated seats of Christina and Cee Lo, with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton returning for the spring incarnation of the show.
Executive producer Mark Burnett has already confirmed a spring edition of the show and that there are “going to be moving pieces all the time” to accommodate the judges if they go on tour and pursue other projects. In a news conference last month, Mark also added, “If won’t be ‘if,’ it’s ‘when.’ They’re all going to tour. We’re talking about it all the time.”
Such is the case with Christina who just released her new single “Your Body” off the forthcoming Lotus album in November. Cee Lo is already developing a sitcom for NBC, the same network that airs “The Voice.”
“I’ve had a lot of fun with the show, but I cannot wait to get back to meet my fans and being on the road,” Christina told Ryan Seacrest recently in an interview.
Personally, it just sounds like two tamer versions of Christina and Cee Lo. I can’t really picture Shakira bickering with Adam or Usher petting a designer cat without it looking affected.
Do you think these two are good possible replacements? Or are they more “American Idol” quality? Is “The Voice” producers hitting the right notes here?
