Usher to Play Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in Biopic
Usher is going to play boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard in a new biopic about Panamanian boxing champ Roberto Duran.

Actor Gael Garcia Bernal will play Duran but the R&B hitmaker will fill the shoes of Leonard.

This is Usher’s second big screen appearance, he made his movie debut in the 2010 flick, “Killers” opposite Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. Usher is no stranger to the acting thing, he has appeared in every early 2000 sitcom from “7th Heaven” to “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”

However, this might be Usher’s most prestigious acting role and who knows, he might be able to go the route of respected actor/singers like Jamie Foxx and Justin Timberlake.

Usher told BBC News that he’s already begun training, “If you see me in the corners boxing…I’m in preparation for a very incredible role. If you guys see me running around London that’s what it is.”

The biopic will begin filming later this year and Robert De Niro is set to play iconic trainer Ray Arcel. Good luck Usher, this might be your Justin-Timberlake-in-The-Social-Network moment.
