The High School Musical cutie, who has released two albums (when? where?) told MTV News that she wants to step away from albums and musicals.
"I'm kind of taking a break from music right now," she explained.
"I'm just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I'm doing something, I really want to focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place."
She added: "I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it'll always have a place in my heart... at the same time, it's nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films."
Maybe she realized that no one knew she was a singer and decided to stick to her day job?

Vanessa was singing one of her songs at a concert when she put the mic down before the lyrics stopped(1:17).
All these 'stars' that find a need to lip sync are not musicians, they're dancers. It seems like they concentrate more on dancing than they do on singing right? You will never see this from musicians such as Alicia Keys, Rihanna and many more. Just sing live or don't sing at all!
