It’s a small world at the top—so it’s no surprise that some of the biggest names in music, film, and being a human being (who are usually the same people) team up when they want to create something enormously incredible.
Will and Jada own a production company called Overbrook Entertainment, which produced Watch The Throne, a documentary about Jay and Kanye’s recording process on their collabo album, released last year.
Said Jay-Z: “The Overbrook Entertainment family and I have a unified vision. This venture into film development and production is a perfect next step with teams that are accomplished, creative and innovative.”
Kanye and Jay-Z released a 10-minute promo of the film on the one-year anniversary of the album’s release, and the full documentary will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 9th. Will and Jada will be there to watch, and they’d better: their hair-whipping daughter Willow is signed to Jay-Z’s record label, Roc Nation. The trio also collaborated on the production of the soundtrack for the new Annie movie, which will star…Willow Smith. Expect a “Hard Knock Life” remix from Jay-Z, too.
It’s like one, big, happy, multimillionaire family.
