Zac Brown Band teaming up with rock and roll pioneer Dave Grohl might just be the biggest thing to happen to country music since the cowboy hats.
For weeks now, the rumor around the music blog water cooler was that the Atlanta, Georgia seven-piece assembly had summoned the powers of Mr. Grohl as some sort of production force behind their new, analog-recorded project. Today, we find out that the project has been dubbed The Grohl Sessions via a new YouTube promotional video.
The flattery is a two-way street, though. Grohl does nothing but sing the group praises in the video. “I swear to God if I weren’t in my band, I would be in this f*cking band,” he says. “I’m not even kidding. I would be in this band in a f*cking heartbeat.”
Zac Brown Band’s The Grohl Session Vol. 1 will be available for purchase December 10th. A Vol. 2 follow-up is expected to drop next year.
